In 2021, David Lynch, a native Texan who was familiar with the Goodland Farms property and its previous owner, led the purchase of the farm. He partnered with Upwell Water, a water resource and infrastructure company with a mission to ensure a sustainable water future, to create UW Brazos Valley Farm LLC (UWBVF) to buy Goodland Farms. Since then, David and UWBVF have overseen continued farming operations while developing the regional supply project. They have also partnered with seven local farm and property owners to make the regional water supply project more sustainable. Since UWBVF’s ownership of Goodland Farms, David and UWBVF have worked with the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District (BVGCD) to ensure not only that UWBVF is following all the District rules and Texas laws related to its owned water rights, but also that UWBVF is a good neighbor to local farmers and well owners, preparing in advance to mitigate any potential effects of the regional water supply project.
